Analysis, engineering and implementation
Every project is unique and requires designed solutions. You will not find two identical erosion cases. This means that there is a need for competent analysis and engineering. When the erosion protection is due for installment the operative part of the installation needs to be handled well. Marecom AS can analyze, do the engineering and manage the operative implementation.
Procedure for new assignments:
- Short description of the erosion problem from the customer
- Site survey by Marecom. Analysis of the case
- Site survey report delivered from Marecom including alternative solutions and a rough cost estimate
- Response from customer, corrections
- Developing design and engineering solution, final cost estimate
- Presentation of project and cost including engineering, material and installation
- Accept, decline or corrections; doing the contract
- Manufacturing of the different elements
- Delivery & installation
- Evaluation of installation according to contract
Example of content of a site analysis:
- Survey of seabed topography, wind and wave conditions, or river topography and river stream characteristics to determine wave forces.
- Mapping and measuring the water currents making the erosion, i.e. from ships.
- Examination and description of existing erosion damage, possible hazards and structural conditions.
- Description and evaluation and of alternative actions to repair damage and protect against further erosion.
- Photos and other documentation.
